Many people said that Pura Tanah Lot (Tanah Lot Temple), in Tabanan Bali is the best tourist object entire the Land of Gods Bali. Tanah Lot also one of Bali's most important sea temples, Pura Tanah Lot ("Temple of Land in the Middle of the Sea"). This temple is also the most sacred temple among others. 

Located in coastal side of Beraban village, Tabanan Regency about 30 km from Denpasar, Pura Tanah Lot constructed in cluster of rocks jutting into the sea, if the sea was high tide then the temple separate from the mainland. Tanah Lot is one of Bali’s seven sea temples, the sea temples are the important temples according to the Balinese Hindu. Pura Tanah Lot prepared to pay homage to Bhatara Segara (The Sea God).

A favorite of domestic tourists who visit Tanah Lot are the scores of poisonous snakes (local people named them as “ular suci”) sleeping in sandy holes just above the waterline along the beach.  When the tide is out, they slither into the temple. The locals believe these snakes guard the sanctuary from intruders, and all who visit the temple not to disturb or anger them must take great care. The snakes are the property of the temple's guardian spirit.

As a favorite tourism destination in Bali, Tanah Lot owns a magnificent view in particular at the sunset time where the sun slows down to the earth, the best moment happens when the red skies frame the temple and waves crash into the rocks, Tanah Lot also a perfect place to enjoy moonrise and moonset.

The favorite place to view Sunset is Sunset Terrace; Sunset Terrace is one place in Tanah Lot area provides the perfect setting to create the unforgettable moment of sunset.

The travelers who visited the Pura Tanah Lot temple only allowed to enter the court. For women who are menstruating / coming months forbidden to enter the temple, this is because the place is considered as a sacred location, so not everyone should worship space to touch on it. Only Hindus will pray or perform religious rituals are allowed to enter the place of worship.

In the vicinity of temple there is a freshwater spring, the source of fresh water called Tirta Pabersihan is a sacred holy water. The presence of freshwater resources is certainly wowed, because in the midst of the pounding of the salty sea water, there was a source of fresh water that can be used by visitors and Hindus to purify themselves. In this place, visitors can wash their face or limbs while praying.

How to reach Tanah Lot.
Tanah Lot located in main route connecting West and East Bali. To drive from Denpasar, Kuta, Legian or Seminyak will take about 1 hour depending on the traffic situation.
