Tourist Sites inside Leuser National Parks:
c. Mount Leuser Climbing (3,404 M)
Gunung Leuser (Mount Leuser) situated in
Kampong Penosan Sepakat, sub district of Blang Jerango, Gayo Lues Regency -
Aceh. Gunung Leuser is a part of Gunung Leuser National Park, name of this
National Park is adopted from the name of this mount.

Gunung Leuser is also another famous option
for climbing activity in the Leuser National Park region. Peak of the mountain usually covered by fog,
maybe this is the reason why people always curious to reach the peak of
mountain.
The main gate to start climbing is Keudah,
which is also an ecotourism area directly adjacent to Gunung Leuser National
Park. Green Sineubuk (1,555m above sea level) in Keudah (Kedah) is a Bungalow,
which is also function as starting point (last post) to start climbing. On this
area, you will find many guides trying to bid their service. To reach the top
of the mountain we will need about of 9-10 days according to weather and
climber condition.
Local community who live on site dominated by Gayo peoples their livelihoods generally is farmers, others community are Acehnese, Local Malay, Alas, Singkil, Karo and Pakpak.
The second pathway to climb Leuser is through Agusan, Gayo Lues Regency. The line was regarded as the most challenging track, one of which must cross the river as much as 45 times.
The third lane for reaching peak of Leuser is through Meukik in Southwest Aceh district. Need about 12 days to reach the top of Leuser.
Due to very close location between one to another, natural conditions, flora, and fauna are relatively similar between Kemiri Mountain and Leuser Mountain.
One of the landscape sign of the peak of Leuser is a hidden serenity lake. This serenity lake located near to the peak, a perfect location to take a rest.

National Park you can raft crossing Alas River for days. Below is some route
available:
1. From Gurah until Muara Situlen, travel
times for 2 days.
2. Gurah until Gelombang, the travel time for
5 days.
3. From Muara Situlen to Gelombang, 3 days
travel time.
You
can take that program in Gurah, Ketambe. However, there are some other river
adventure programs to explore rivers surrounding Leuser National Park.
