Pasar Baru Bandung


Pasar Baru Bandung or Bandung Trade Center, is a big traditional market especially for apparels product, located in Jl. Otto Iskandar Dinata, a downtown street near to the most popular street in Bandung, Jl Asia Afrika,  so, very easy to reach this facility. Pasar Baru Bandung has 8 floors, with hundreds of retailer or wholesaler.

Various merchandises sold in this market are Various Clothing included Moslem Clothing and its accessories, male and female clothing, kids and baby wears. Bed Cover, Fabrics, and Kebaya easy to be find here. Leather products like bags and jackets also available. All in friendly price and the price is negotiable. So when you come to this place be ready to bargain. 

There are various qualities available here, from the top quality to the lowest. So far, this place becomes one of favorites shopping destination for Malay visitor, especially for shopping various Moslem apparel.


This is the tips when you come to shopping in Pasar Baru Bandung:

  • Make sure the quality of the brand. Remember there are various qualities here.
  • If there is no price label, it means that you can negotiate the price.
  • Keep secure your belonging, this is not mean that Pasar Baru is insecure. Remember that thousands visitor always visit this place every day.


Jalan Cihampelas : Bandung's center of Jeans.


Malioboro is the most famous street in Jogjakarta city, Cihampelas and its Cihampelas walk is the similar to Malioboro in Jogjakarta. Cihampelas is Bandung’s tourism spot, and also center of jeans business at once.

Generally, jeans stores and outlets in Cihampelas decorated with artistic touch, using modern, popular, or traditional ideas. So while you looking for the brand you need, you can also enjoying unique and artistic store decoration along the Cihampelas street.  Price of the merchandises here are friendly, but generally, there is no bargain. Cihampelas store provide not only major product worldwide but also national major product and local product (produced by home industries surround Bandung). Some of stores also receive credit and debit card payment besides cash payment.

Recently we can also enjoy various local culinary in Cihampelas, especially for local cookies and snack. A lot of outlets provide good local cookies and snack, most of the snack are tasted, especially for Asian people.

In Cihampelas Street now developed a mall complex that designed as open mall with various of outlets, from apparels stores to food outlets named Cihampelas Walk (Ciwalk), here in Ciwalk you can enjoy Cihampelas in more modern touch. 

Cibaduyut : Center of Shoes


Other place in the city of Bandung to visit when we are shopping for apparel is Jalan Cibaduyut (Cibaduyut Street), in this location, we can find hundreds of homemade shoes store. Almost all of shoes displayed in the stores along Cibaduyut Street are homemade shoes that produced by local home industry around there. We can also order special model directly there, just bring the picture of the shoes model you want then they will make it for you. But usually this is not a day finish order, you need to wait until one up to three days depending on the amount of orders at that time. 

There are various model shoes and sandals available in Cibaduyut, homemade shoes industry already run for years. Recently the producers also product some other kind of product like bags, wallet and little bit leather jacket. The price of shoes between USD 20 to USD 50, we can choose either leather or fabric based material.


Cibaduyut is the main destination spot for shopping tour for local visitor.

Bandung Food

Sundanese food is one part of hundreds Indonesia culinary, Sundanese food has special characteristic, and generally little bit  different with other culinary style in Java Island. Most of them are have fresher and lighter taste comparing to Javanese or Balinese culinary,  with  various kind of “pepes” as the icon. Bandung culinary always included raw vegetables as the main component, accompanied by sambal, always and must!

Getting to Bandung
Bandung is Capital City of Jawa Barat Province, can be reach by bus or train from Jakarta, take about 2 up to 4 hours depending on traffic condition. But please to consider when you go to Bandung from Jakarta in week end or public holidays, traffic jams are more common in those days as it is a destination weekend deals and holiday favorites for Jakarta, Resident.

If you would like to take a bus from Jakarta to Bandung, you can take it from Kampung Rambutan Bus Station, the destination terminal is Leuwi Panjang Bus Station in Bandung.

Bandung can also reach from Denpasar, Bali by air. Need only about one and a half hour, there is daily flight from Denpasar to Bandung by local operator. 

International flight can be found from some city in Malaysia directly to Bandung.
